Water Resource Field Specialist

Eli Loughmiller

I joined the SWP team in November of 2017.

I was born and raised in Tuolumne County, and currently reside in Twain Harte with my wife and our three boys. I have spent my life in the career fields of education, recreation, landscaping, and horticulture.

For the years directly preceding my employment at SWP, I was the owner of a retail garden supply company servicing Tuolumne and Calaveras County farmers, both hobbyist and commercial. As a father, homeowner, and lifetime resident of the Sierra Nevadas, I greatly appreciate the opportunity to help improve the health of our watershed.

I have witnessed the fluctuations of our snowpack through my love of snowboarding, the health of our rivers and streams through hiking and fishing, and our diminishing groundwater levels through the local farmers I have worked with.

I can think of no better focus for the future sustainability of this region than to work alongside the folks here at SWP to educate the community, mitigate stormwater damage, harvest rainwater, implement greywater systems, and repopulate our native plant species.

My hope is that together, we can revise the development of this beautiful land, so that my children and all future generations, have the opportunity to experience all the activity and brilliance the Tuolumne and Stanislaus watersheds have to offer, from top to bottom.
